Bedding

Bedding

"No bigger thief than sleep: he robs us half life & ldquo; - that's an old German proverb. It is all the more important to bed well in order to sleep well. For some, the linen from the trade is much too boring. Individually designed bed linen is in vogue: whether falling asleep in the family portrait, together with the star on stage or in the worlds of the favorite movie - with the right print everything is possible.

Bed linen: individual and self designed

There are several possibilities to make the bedding yourself. Photo printing, textile paint or dyes are available, among other things. Whether as a full screen or as a single photo, repeated pattern or a photo carpet - there are no limits to the imagination and the bed linen is certainly unique. Such a printed laundry is also ideal as a gift. If you want to print your bed linen with photos, you have two options: order photo bed linen from a professional and make it yourself with iron-on paper. While the first variant is above all quality and full-surface printing, the iron-on paper can be a cost-effective alternative.

Photo printing: order from a professional

There are numerous suppliers on the Internet who realize professional photo printing on bedding - in various sizes and shapes, on pillow and blanket cover. If the customer has chosen, often only a photo must be uploaded and the ordered bed linen is already in work. Most suppliers have the following key data:

  • fully printed
  • freely designable on both sides
  • made of microfibre fabric
  • skin-friendly
  • washable (30 °)
  • Manufacture in thermo-sublimation printing

Sublimation printing is often used here used. Here, special ink colors are evaporated in the tissue. The delivered photo is first printed on a foil and then transferred to the bed linen by means of the process. A thermal transfer press heats the film to over 200 degrees Celsius - the color turns long-lasting into the bedding. The material of the bed linen is a lot of microfibre fabric, which consists of 100 percent polyester. It has the advantage that it is wrinkle-free and easy to clean. In addition, the material does not scratch. However, the customer pays a certain price for this quality.

Delivered photos are often required in a resolution of 300 dpi, so that the quality of printing is correct. The limit of upload providers is often between 10 and 30 megabytes.

Do it yourself: Working with iron-on paper

However, anyone who can not afford the photo-printed bedding has another alternative: What works for T-shirts also apply to the duvet cover. For this variant, bed linen, iron-on paper and an inkjet printer must be available. With the latter, the special paper can be printed with the desired motif. This is then ironed with the iron on the sheets. The temperature of the iron depends on the material of the bed linen: For cotton, the iron should be set very high. Synthetic fibers require smaller temperatures. This variant has the disadvantage that it is only suitable for smaller motifs. Full-surface design is often far too costly here.

Anyone who tries the iron-on method for the first time should dare to make a first attempt at a concealed location or on a test fabric to see whether the film and the fabric also connect. You should also work on a table with a blanket instead of the ironing board.

Monochrome: Working with textile paint

If you do not want to have a photo image on your bed linen, but do not find your favorite color on the market, you can use textile dye to make your own bedding. Often, only a little effort is needed here. Most textile dyes dye the bedding in the washing machine. The more color added, the more intense the result becomes. If you want to be more individual, you can also use the Batik method: Before the wash cycle, circles and patterns must be integrated here with a firm package tape. Handwork is also possible. With a brush, the textile dye can also be applied individually. Hands and feet can also be called & quot; stamp & ldquo; for printing.

Easy care

For many customers, the question of how to care for printed bed linen comes up before production. In many cases, this is easy, most models can be safely washed in the washing machine - depending on the production and material at between 30 and 60 degrees Celsius. For the wash, a color detergent should be used. However, excessive spin should be avoided - drying on a leash is recommended. In most cases, the bedding does not have to be ironed afterwards, because the microfibre fabric is often wrinkle-free.

Summary

If you do not want to sleep in all-linens, you can personalize your covers. With the professional full-surface prints can be ordered, but also individual patterns are possible with iron-on paper. Another variant are textile dyes. In most cases there is no limit to the creativity and the care of specially printed bed linen is no problem.
