Colors in the nursery: How to set up the children's paradise

Play, sleep, study, romp - children spend over 90 percent of their indoor time. The more important it is that parents make sure they make the nursery as comfortable and appealing as possible.

When eating, it's often called the eye eats with & ldquo ;. In fact, the look is very important in almost all situations, even if we are rarely aware of it. Also in the nursery and children's room color is extremely important to assign. Even the simplest renovation can give a room a completely new look. Anything that pleases is allowed - whether colorful and cheerful or timeless and modern. However, the room should not seem overly crowded, less is often more.

The effect of color

colors have a major impact on our well-being and our mood . Therefore, they play an important role in the design of children's rooms. A perfect color choice does not exist, after all, the creative play of the children should be promoted by warm colors, but at the same time they should also relax at night (cold colors). Parents can compromise when choosing a mix of warm and cold colors, ie soft tints (pastel shades) of red, orange, yellow and blue. This one is by no means forced to select a single color for the room. Instead, each wall can have its own color, such as light blue or turquoise, the wall that the offspring looks at when falling asleep. The color red has proven to be extremely unfavorable because it promotes aggression. Parents should also avoid the popular stereotype of designing nursery rooms in pink or blue.

By the way, : In a later renovation, parents should have their children involved in the color scheme of how the room should look. Thus, the little ones can develop their creative vein at the same time.

How Colors Affect People

As mentioned before, each color has a different effect on us. This looks like this:

  • Nursery should not look drab. Colorful colors are very important for babies, as color stimuli promote vision and general attention. In large areas of the room, however, light, soft tones should dominate, as too many vibrant colors can lead to sensory overload in the newborn.
  • Light greens lime green have a soothing effect. They are especially recommended for troubled children. Green is a natural color that we find almost every day, so it has a harmonious look that pleases all children and babies. Practical: Green can be combined with many other colors.
  • Lilac tones are soothing tones that also have an inspirational effect. A purple wall design thus promotes the imagination of the child. Depending on the color, Lila looks warmer, sometimes cooler. The combination is delicate yellow, pink and various shades of blue.
  • Yellow , the color of the sun, can have very different effects. Basically, the color looks cheerful, stimulating and positive. It radiates energy and is thus suitable for baby rooms, so that the offspring grow up as a fun-loving and optimistic person. This color can also be combined with all sorts of tones, for example with blue, green, violet or even red.

Color surface in the room

In addition to their general meanings and effects, it is important to note that colors at different points in the room achieve different effects . The walls clearly have the leading role with the largest surfaces in the room. Wall paints can have a wider, cramped, warming or cooling effect in a room. For example, the blanket looks lighter when it is painted lighter compared to the wall. The floor should always be darker than the walls.

As the needs of children change over the years, parents should periodically renovate or redecorate the nursery and, if necessary, change the wallpaper. Some paint and varnish manufacturers have worked with reputed companies to select children's colors. These are definitely worth a look for parents.
