Finding a printer for the office is often not that easy. For the paperwork of a self-employed person other devices are needed than in a small office in which several employees want to print. As well as printers for home use, therefore, office printers must meet quite different requirements. That's why flexibility is needed. But what should you watch out for when you want to buy a printer for the office?
Is a printer needed at all?
Letters are no longer sent by post, but by e-mail. More and more data is stored electronically. For many years, therefore, there was a vision of a completely paperless office, where no printers are needed at all. In the meantime, however, this idea seems outdated, because hardly anyone wants to forego having important documents in print in front of them. Especially for important presentations, most people also want to hold their paper notes in their hands. An office that does not need a printer is therefore a rare exception rather than the rule. However, modern printers can do much more than just print. They are veritable document centers that perform multiple functions at the same time.
The Right Printer for the Self-Employed
No-one can handle the hassle of paperwork, whether acting as an insurance agent or a craftsman. Offers, invoices and letters must be created, printed and sent. In most cases, self-employed people handle these tasks of multifunction devices. You can print to

The maintenance of these printers is also easier. Even after long pauses in printing, such as after company holidays, these devices are immediately ready for use again. Inkjet printers, on the other hand, often struggle with dried-up ink, which means they have to do a cumbersome cleaning first. Laser printers do not have any problems at all, because of course the toner particles can not dry out.

It is certainly a matter of taste if you end up equipping your office with an inkjet or laser printer. In general, I should not be fooled by the purchase of a office printer but at too low purchase prices. Often, the manufacturers get the money that is saved when buying on the consumables again. Which cartridge fits in which printer can be easily found out using an ink and toner scanner. It's always worth taking a look at the cost of ink cartridges and toner and figuring out what running costs are for each printer.
